BIO:
Rebs Fisher-Jackson (she/her) is a working-class Cornish filmmaker and BAFTA Connect writer training at UCLA as a BAFTA-Fulbright scholar.
Named one of the ‘Next Generation of LGBTQ+ Filmmakers in Wales’ by the Iris Prize, Rebs’ film career speaks for her commitment to platforming diversity. She has a proven track record of using her voice and films to inspire social change through her work with the International Youth Media Summit (IYMS), which has seen her produce anti-discrimination and women’s health films in Wisconsin and Tanzania. As a neurodivergent and lesbian filmmaker, Rebs is passionate about championing diverse stories on-screen and behind the lens, and campaigns for improved accessibility and diversity within the film industry on a global level.
As a storyteller and filmmaker, Rebs specializes in LGBTQIA+ and women-led stories, coming-of-age dramas, dramedies, and social impact filmmaking. To date, Rebs had produced six award-winning shorts and obtained two rounds of BFI-backed funding. She obtained her first broadcast credit with short ‘Live After Death’, which screened on the BBC in December 2023. Rebs is actively working towards bringing her first pilot to the screen.
