BIO:
Esther Okorocha is a writer & filmmaker currently based between LA & London. After graduating from the University of York with a 1st Class Honours in English and Related Literature, she was shortlisted for The Guardian and 4th Estate 4thWrite Short Story Prize. Here, she submitted her first short story ‘Back of House: The Chef de Cusine of The Mating Clinic’. Her first short experimental film, The Big Routine, was recently selected for the GRRL HAUS Cinema Film Festival (2024). She is enrolled in the Film and Television MFA program at UCLA, with a concentration in Screenwriting, and seeks to create works which explore the lives of unconventional Black women.

Inspired by the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, MADE FOR ME centers on Pia, an ambitious pathologist, and George, her defective android partner that she stole from the teaching hospital where she works. When George's violent malfunctions start to reoccur, Pia’s ideal life starts to fall apart and she is forced to go to great lengths to try and fix everything whilst maintaining the appearance of control.
THE HOUSE - Hour Pilot- Drama/International
Months after being sexually assaulted, think tank analyst Grace Adenuga - still reeling from the incident - is suddenly let go from her job. After a lengthy interview process, Grace lands a position as a parliamentary assistant in Westminster, where she begins a complex mentor-mentee relationship with the MP that she works for.
